Emperor Ashoka, one of India's greatest rulers and a devout follower of Buddhism, visited Bodh Gaya and helped spread the teachings of the Buddha.

After witnessing the suffering of people, Siddhartha left his royal life in search of truth and inner peace. His journey eventually led him to enlightenment at Bodh Gaya.

Today, Bodh Gaya is famous as a spiritual destination where people come to seek peace, meditate, and strive for moksha—liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Bodh Gaya is famous as a place where people seek moksha (liberation) from their sins. It is believed that Lord Rama came here to perform the rituals for his father’s ashes and offered them in the River Phalgu, which flows through Bodh Gaya.
